“The Undercover Babas” is an exciting new project by Mandala and Braincell. Two seasoned psychedelic trance producers both firmly in the Nano records family.

Ralph and Angus met at Angus’s retreat in Goa where they became firm friends and began to share sonic ideas and visions of a new sound. Both of them were also deeply inspired by nature and had been on missions worldwide to record various atmospheres and unusual creatures.

Having collaborated on several tracks that were released on Nano records, “Cellular Mandala“ in 2017 and “Undercover Baba“ which was featured on Mandala’s highly acclaimed album “Back To Your Nature” in 2018, they decided to take it a step further, and created the concept of “The Undercover Babas” Music born of the idea of their lives being a subtle mission to spread positive, deep, psychedelic sonic messages without the need for big egos. The result is an authentic sound that blends both their recognisable styles of storytelling, creating something fresh and truly unique in this genre.

Blending driving bass-lines, subtle spiralling melodies, lots of natural recordings, vocal utterings and modular madness, their sound conjures epic cinematic sonic landscapes hinting at far off tribal lands with highly polished tales of the raw energy of the heart.

Fun fact… all of The Undercover Babas tracks have been written at the time of full moon! This cosmic and sonic convergence has now spilled into cheeky, playful, fun-filled Eps on Nano Records along with even more releases planned and a full live set is now up and running.
